Interview with Connie Podesta – “My biggest success so far are the number of contacts we have made globally.”

Hi, I am Connie Podesta. I am a professional speaker, author and executive life coach.

I have three areas of business activity; first as a Professional Speaker; second as an Executive Life Coach which we call “The Connie Connection” and third my product line of learning tools which we call “The Connie Collection”.

I started my website years ago when I realized the importance of doing business on the Internet. Primeau Productions, Inc. and Sequencing, Inc. recently completely revamped my website to better serve my clients and increase my Internet Marketing success.

What was the biggest success so far?
I would have to say my biggest success so far are the number of contacts we have made globally. Our product sales have gone up as well as number of speaking engagements and executive life coaching clients. We do quite well with Internet sales of books etc. especially with our current team in place.

How do you manage to engage with people over all those social networks? And how do you promote your site, what works and what doesn’t?
A great staff and Internet marketing team. I guide the content and frequency and they help me manage the activity and measure the results.

We promote with Facebook using my fan page to distribute tips I created for my followers which also are posted on Twitter. We also use my revamped blog to distribute information, Wikipedia and Linked In. In retrospect, I had a good learning curve and wouldn’t do anything differently.

Any tips for people just starting out?
• YES, open social media accounts using the brand you want to market. Fancy or cute names that are not yourself or your company will not be nearly as effective.

• Retain a group of professionals to help with Internet marketing. It is not expensive and worth the investment.

• Create content because on the Internet content is king.

• Get as many links back to your website as possible. Connectivity is very important and helps search engines recognize information.

• Get yourself on Wikipedia (I will be on Wikipedia in a day or so thanks to Primeau Productions)

• Write articles for other blogs and publications. Request links back to your website for credibility.

• And last but not least: Post Pod casts on ITunes
